Having an online job doesn’t require you to have a home office. In fact, you can work anywhere you like. Just make sure to choose a space that is comfortable, convenient, and far from distractions.
Take a Break
The body is not a machine. Just like regular workers, online workers are not meant to sit in front of a computer screen for hours on end. Doing so may lead to a couple of health issues. So, don’t forget to give yourself small breaks. If you’ve been looking at the computer for 3 hours, take a couple of minutes to rest your eyes. Try visiting a coffee shop or a public lounge where you can surround yourself with people while still keeping to yourself.
Remove All Social Networks
Social networks remain to be one of the biggest distractions for online workers. With no one to police your actions, it’s easy to spend time browsing aimlessly through your Facebook account. If you want to keep your productivity, consider blocking all access to your social networks while you’re at work so you won’t get tempted to check them out in your moments of downtime.
There are a lot of tools you can use to help keep your team’s productivity in check, despite the distance barrier. Applications such as Slack allow you to communicate with your co-workers. While task management tools such as Trello helps to keep you organized around priorities.
